Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why do you call it 'coaching' and not 'tuition'?

According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), coaching is a process where the coach and the one being coached "adopts a partnership in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their potential". The nature of GP means students get to learn about the world through their own exploration and carry that knowledge with them beyond their junior college days. The best way for students to achieve this is not to engage in a one-sided learning process, but instead enter a collaborative partnership with a coach who will help students revel in their strengths, improve on their weaknesses and grow in confidence.

Q: How are lessons delivered?

Lessons will be delivered online, via Google Meet.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is collected on a per-lesson basis and can be done via PayLah!/PayNow.

Q: When are lessons conducted?

For 2026, lessons will be conducted on Saturday mornings. For the detailed schedule, you can go over to the 2026 Schedule page to find out which lesson timing might be suitable for you.

Q: Will homework be given?

Assignments are an important part of reinforcing the learning from the lesson through application, and the tasks are designed to incrementally build up students' competencies. Thus, most lessons would have a take-home assignment and students are highly encouraged to complete them.

Q: Will I still get individual feedback/support since lessons are held as a class?

Assessment for Learning (AfL) is a key pedagogical element of the coaching approach, so students will still get tailored feedback beyond lesson timing. This is done through the feedback reports that accompany the assignments, as well as other consultation sessions that are available for booking throughout the week.

Q: Can I use the sessions to go through my school homework?

Lessons are pre-planned to ensure that the students get the best coaching experience. As such, the lesson allocation would primarily focus on the material prepared for the lesson. That said, students can raise interesting elements of their schoolwork during the lesson so that their peers can also benefit from the process. These will be done in a way that the main foci of the lesson gets completed first.
